Beautiful Pet-Friendly Wedding at Unique Arizona Landmark – Tonto Bridge

Anna and Troy had the most beautiful pet-friendly wedding. The unique Arizona landmark known as Tonto Bridge was the perfect setting for their special day.

Known for its waterfalls and hikes, Tonto Bridge is local to me and one of my favorite venues to photograph! As an adventure and travel photographer, I often have to organize photography permits and location permits, but this unique Arizona landmark does not require any of that. The venue takes care of any permits necessary which is a huge help for not only myself, but also the couple.

This adventurous couple opted for a simple ceremony outside in the grass over looking the rocks. Near Payson, Tonto Natural Bridge is formed from limestone making it a unique picturesque setting for events like Anna’s and Troy. It provided a dramatic backdrop and a variety of locations to walk through in the surrounding landscape during the portrait sessions throughout the day.

While the bridge itself is simply stunning, the waterfall is a must see. Anna + Troy also adventured with me off property about 10 minutes down the road to a magical little wooded area. We had so much fun capturing these authentic emotional moments.

What I really love is that there is something for everyone!! And if you aren’t up to driving off-site, you have everything you need at the venue.

After photos, the reception was held indoors where guests and family cooled off and prepared for a night full of laughter and fun. From the cake cutting to the little personal details and a beautiful emotional first dance to the popular shoe game, the evening was nothing short of perfect.

Pet-Friendly Wedding Ideas

Let’s be real. Most people think of their pets like children. You wouldn’t leave your child out of your wedding, so why leave your pets at home!? Anna + Troy knew they wanted to bring their dogs to the wedding, and luckily Tonto Bridge, the unique Arizona Landscape venue, is a pet-friendly location. If you are looking for ways to include your pets in your wedding day, here are a few!

• Make them a part of your save the dates or invitation suite.
• Purchase special wedding attire for them like bandanas or collars!
• Assign a trusted friend to be a “pet attendant” and allow your dog to walk down the aisle – either with the friend or by yourself and then wrangled by your friend after the fact.
• Sign the marriage license or certificate! Some states allow your pet’s pawprint on the legal documents! If they don’t let them sign the unofficial “pretty” certificate.
• Carve away dedicated time to take photos with them.

However, while including your pets can be a fun experience, it’s essential to consider their temperament, comfort, and safety. Make sure to plan accordingly and have a backup plan in case they become overwhelmed or just need a break during the chaos of the day.
