Doesn’t sound like a complicated question, does it? However, answering the big question of “what shoes should I wear to my elopement” can vary depending on the kind of elopement that is being planned.
As couples continue to break away from traditional wedding norms, elopements have become a popular choice for those seeking a more intimate and personalized celebration of love. From exchanging vows on sandy shores to saying “I do” amidst the serenity of snow-covered landscapes, elopements offer endless possibilities. In this blog post, we’ll explore various styles of elopements, from beach weddings to hiking adventures, and delve into the often-overlooked yet crucial aspect of footwear choice.
The first step in everything is to plan on location. The where is the biggest determining factor when trying to answer “What shoes should I wear to my elopement?” If the plan is to elope on the beach at sunset, you don’t want to wear clunky boots that will make it difficult to walk around in.
On the other hand, if you want to hike six miles and exchange vows on the top of a mountain, heels are not going to keep your feet happy. That’s not to say you couldn’t pack a pair for when you get to the top, but plan ahead for the terrain.
After experiencing several various scenarios, here’s what I believe:
Outside of activities, location, and weather, another aspect to consider is your theme or overall mood. If you plan to hike six miles, cowboy boots are not going to be the best choice after about a mile in. However, if you are very western, you could always pack them in your bag and swap them out after the adventure is over! That way you are including a personal touch that adds to your story during portraits and vows.
Eloping opens the door to a world of possibilities, allowing couples to celebrate their love in unique and personal ways. Don’t want to forget planning the little things, especially when it comes to choosing the right footwear.
From the sandy shores to snowy mountaintops, each step (see what I did there?) in the journey should be taken with intention, ensuring that the couple’s special day is not only memorable but also comfortable and stylish.
